Penn State's Living Room
The Nittany Lion Inn, established in 1931, is a historic Georgian colonial-style hotel located on the campus of Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. Known as “Penn State’s Living Room,” it has been a central hub for visitors, alumni, and the local community.
Established in 1931, the Inn has been a central part of Penn State's history, hosting notable figures such as Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, and George H. W. Bush.
After extensive renovations, the Inn reopened in September 2024, featuring refreshed guest rooms, updated meeting spaces, and new dining options that blend modern aesthetics with the building’s historic features.
Situated on the Penn State campus, guests enjoy convenient access to university events, athletic facilities, and the vibrant downtown area.
The Inn boasts multiple dining venues, including Lionne & 1855 Lounge, offering innovative American cuisine with French influences, and Triplett’s, a casual spot honoring Penn State football legend Wally Triplett.
